We' re leaving Honolulu (our home) and hope for an early shuttle to Lanai Town. I' ve been searching the web high and low, in the hope of finding a timetable for the shuttle. We' ve got to get to town by 7:45 and our plane leaves at 6:58. The thread has been discontinued due to apathy.

Hi - is there a regular shuttle service to Lanai City so you can visit different places? Yes, there is a shuttle that leaves on a regular basis from early in the mornings till later. The route is between Manele Bay and the lodge, with a stop in the centre of Lana'i City, in front of Hotel Lana'i.

A journey to Lanai is like a journey into the past. The Hawaiian Pineapple Company of James Dole purchased the island in December 1922 for $1.2 million and immediately began building a pilot town called Lanai City to accommodate the new migrant labourers from the Philippines, Korea and Japan.

Lanai Island would become the biggest pinapple orchard in the whole wide globe, producing ninety per cent of the world's highest-yet. Lanai City is perhaps the only municipality in Hawaii that is currently in the planning phase.
