You may never have known Okinawa, but just think, if you like, of an island of pure pink sands, strewn in the middle of an oceans of blue and blue-green tones, and you have made it. Where' s Okinawa? There is no UK carrier flying directly to Okinawa Naha, but British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa and All Nippon are among those that will take you there via Japan from around 600 roundtrips.
