Lanai Island Resorts

Lanai....anything other than resorts? Available outdoor pursuits on Lanai outside Manele Bay and Koele Resorts are somewhat restricted compared to the other neighbouring isles, apart from the great exploration and recreational possibilities on the island. There are three protected areas: Hulopoe Bay, Manele Bay and Nanahoa, all with great snorkelling.
The other main tourist attraction outside the resorts are: Kaunolu (the Garden of the Gods), a pristine stone carving site; Kaiolohia (or shipwreck) beach, the longest beach on the island; and Kaunolu, a national historic landmark with a traditional precontact town. Leisure outside includes scuba dipping, yachting, fishing, touring, walking, mountaineering, hunting, horseback riding, bow shooting and sports clay.
Lanai Sporting Clays is absolutely first rate and unbelievably enjoyable, even for people who have never (or never wanted) to fire a gat. The island has no means of transport. Resorts provide regular buses every day for visitors with departures from Manele Bay, Koele, Lanai City, the port and the AĆ©roport.
Busses also take visitors to golfs, cowsheds and sports facilities. The business is generally confined to the large number of outlets that include the Lanai City main plaza (the only town on the island), such as groceries, arts and crafts outlets, souvenir boutiques, housewares, financial service, government service and restaurant.
Recommended are the Manele Bay breakfasts (an exquisite choice and great views) and dinners at the Lodge in Koele (a treat for connoisseurs), but don't miss the Lanai 10 room historical guesthouse at the top of Lanai City Square. Enjoy your meal in the lodge. It' one of Hawaii's best food choices (and best kept secrets) and it's astonishing that he has decided to stay on Lanai instead of in a large neighboring island resorts on the island.....
