Its smaller dimensions with less than 2,000 travellers give Noordam an intense feeling that makes it easier to make new acquaintances and make new ones. In Alaska and New Zealand the pianobar was as rude as it could be, with cheerful singingalongs until noon. Aussie and New Zealand cruise ships are attracting a somewhat more vibrant audience, although the mood is still rather subdued.
