Hotel Polynesia
Polynesia HotelPolynesia Hotel/Holiday World /Benalmadena, great!!!!!!!! - Reviev of Holiday Polynesia, Benalmadena, Spain
The orientation can be bewildering, as the levels are indicated as -2, -1, 0 (reception). Please ask at the front desk for a hotel plan, as this was not initially available. It was a beautiful and roomy room with two twin bedded rooms in the master suite, large cupboards, desk lights and a terrace-doors.
We' ve found that one or two euro on a cushion as a tip increases the qualitiy of the dry cleaners and free-balls in our room. There is an electric safety deposit box in the wardrobe for a few Euro per daily. Also the TV remotes had to be rented from the TV-Receiver. A free irons is available on demand at the front desk.
Maeva Buffet serves breakfasts every days from 07:00 - 10:00 (07:30 - 10:30 on weekends) and was the only possibility for breakfasts. We also had an Olette ward, where you could order at no surcharge. Beverages are self-service (orange juices, apples and coffee), although I have not seen it.
You can eat your dinner either on foot in Maeva or you can book one of the two a-la-carte restaurants at the front desk. Although for all-inclusive this is restricted to one session per visit, we went with Thomsons, which permitted an additional session. Dinner buffets change every day. All in all, we have found that the meal is better than the amount we are offered.
In the evenings buffets were provided and are included in the price. We''ve given a few Euro per session, which you can either keep at the desk or in the glass at the doors. Note that all the food provided on the sideboard can get VERY HEAT, so take care of the little ones.
It' eastern and beautiful as a rest from the bar. Beverages are prepared at the dinner tables and all meals are prepared according to your wishes. Here everything is serviced and you can select an appetizer, a first course and a desert from a meal. It was prepared on your own at a price of 13 Euro for a piece of meat, but you'd be stupid not to be all-inclusive.
But it was genuine ltalian cheeses, so we ordered a regular sliced Tomatoes and Cheeses for them. Snack is available daily from 11:30 to 18:00 in the swimming pools on floor -2 (minus two). Picnic meals for dinner and breakfasts can be ordered the previous morning and picked up at the front desk.
Directly next to the swimming pools there is a pub with all-inclusive-beverages. The beverages are mainly brand-free, regional products, but I appreciate that since we were at the end of the saison, sometimes brand alcohols were used. For a surcharge, the café also sells dogs with dogs with slush and brand ices, chips, etc., although small sundaes (vanilla and chocolate) were also included.
Beverages were available in the piano bar next to the swimming pools. There is a lot to see and do and it is not hard to miss something. There is a nightclub right next to it, where children's entertainment takes place on some nights before the opening at midnight until 2:00 am.
Beverages are not included until the lounge is open for an entire day. One store is quite large and selling food as well as British literature, newspapers and presents, although everything can be purchased much more cheaply outside the hotel. As an example, the cost of plaiting a child's head was 30 Euro, while my girl got the same for 13 Euro in Puerto Marina.
There was also a spas for adults and children (extra charge) and a children's nightclub that was very good looking, with surveillance and a main entrance for additional shelter. It was the best I' ve seen in a hotel building, very big with many billiard desks, airline hookey desks and the common slot machine.
There is a tennis court next to the daily menu and the lounge area. Rackets and balls are available at the front desk, but a 10 euros caution. There was a train every 30 min behind the hotel, but we didn't find it irritating or noisy. There are some steps to the lefthand side of the basin that most folks do not dare to climb.
There' s a calmer relaxation area with deckchairs etc. and a small children's swimming pools and a whirlpool. Do you get the clubs ans balls from admission (deposit required), but be cautioned, it's in reality the craziest golf and one of the most challenging courses I' ve ever been playing. However, the best swimming pools are down on the hillside at the Beach Club Estate.
You can rent tubas for 4? per tub and 10? security-payment. There' s an included nightclub at the Strand Cub. It is a very large aquapark and due to its equipment and dimensions could make the entrance fee payable, but it is exclusively for Holiday World.
There' s a cab rank in front of the entrance and they wanted 13-14 EUR for a way to us. If you stay overnight on the hotel side, the No. 120 coach will take you to the centre of Benalmadena for 1,20 EUR per passenger and route.
