New South Wales, Byron Bay

It has a long tradition of manufacturing (dairy, slaughterhouses, fishery and whale hunting until 1963) and was an important but dangerous seaport. In 1876, the writer Brunton Stephens wrote a poetry about pastures on the "mossy plains" of Cape Byron. In 1886 the first footbridge was constructed, and the railroad was added in 1894, and Cavvanbah became Byron Bay in 1894.

It has a moist sub-tropical weather (Cfa in the Köppen class) with hot summer and gentle frost. A sea route leads from the city center to the Cape Byron beacon. In 2016, a 3.4 km section of the Murwillumbah rail line is to be renovated for a two-car self-propelled rail link that will run from the city center to Byron and surrounding area. A former commuter known as the Byron Bay Tram carried travellers from around 1928 to around 1954 between the railroad terminal and the "new pier", where links were made with North Coast Steam Navigation Company cruise liners.

Later, he towed cetaceans from the footbridge to the cleaning works, cattle to the slaughterhouses, mineralsand and meats trolleys to the centre and pushed Norco and other rail connections on a regular basis, and between these tasks the tram ran until the coastline came to a standstill.

This Simplex engine was shut down in 1984 when the Fleischwerk was shut down and is now housed in a shed near the Kendall Street railway crossings under the supervision of the Byron Bay Council and voluntary workers. The Byron Bay Public School, Byron Bay High School, St Finbarr's Primary School, Byron Bay Community School and Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School belong to the Byron Bay School.

These include a number of early infancy institutions, such as Byron Bay Preschool and Periwinkle Preschool. There are Lexis and Byron Bay in the field of adults learning, the Byron Region Community College, which is a certified educational organization, and SAE Institute Byron Bay, a state-recognized organization that provides degrees in sound technology, digitally produced films, multi-media and animations.

Byron Bay is the oldest modern sport association; it is one of Australia's premier windsurfing associations and has been in permanent use for more than 105 years. Byron Bay Red Devils and Byron Magpies are well-known as a regular soccer outfit.

The Byron Bay FC has won the Football Far North Coast Premier Leagues three seasons, most recently in 2013. Others associations including Byron Bay Golf Club, Byron Bay Cricket Club, Byron Bay Rugby Union Club, Byron Bay Gliding Club, Byron Bay Hang Gliding / Paragliding Club and the Byron Bay Bowling Club.

The 1986 novel by John Macgregor, Originally from Byron Bay, is partially played near Mullumbimby. In 2008/2009, Deb Cox and Roger Monk wrote the ABC dramatic East of Everything episode in the fictitious city of Broken Bay, built on a more dilapidated adaptation of Byron Bay and its surroundings, with much of the shooting taking place in and around Byron Bay, featuring obvious attractions such as the light house and surrounding shores.
