or Saamoothiri (Malayalam: ????????), English-speaking Samorin or Zamorin of Calicut, is the name of the en:Eradi en:Nair ruler of the former state of Kozhikode (Calicut, Nediyirippu Swar?pam) in the present state of Cerala, India. Samoothiris reigned between the twelfth and eighteenth centuries A.D. and were the most mighty monarchs of the Middle Ages in the city.

Raja, the Saamoothiri of Kozhikode is known for being the sovereign who welcomed the portugese merchant and navigation officer Vasco da Gama on 18 May 1498. Saamoothiri initiated the yearly en:Revathi Pattathanam at the Tali Siva in Calicut. Saamoothiris were the only monarchs able and nearing the establishment of a state of the Kerala since the fall of the Chera Empire.

The Calicut International Park was sanctioned after a long fight that began in 1977 under the command of the liberation warrior K.P. Kesava Menon. The Gulf of Malayalis was a major contributor to the expansion of the Malayalis International Airfield in the 1990', raising money for this cause when the Union government said it had no money.

As a result, the Malabar Convention Center founded the Malabar Convention Center and the Malabar Convention Center, which contributed to the financing of the Malabar Convention Center's work. Subsequently, with HUDCO loan, important plant and equipment projects such as the lengthening of the take-off and landing strip from 6,000 to 9,000 ft to ease the operations of wide-body aircrafts were made. The area requires a dedicated landing control system to increase flight operation security both at low light and at noon. The Airports Authority of India made the take-off and landing strip lead-in ?system system available for the first in India at Calicut International Airports in accordance with DGCA guidelines. In Kozhikode, the state administration has commissioned a viability assessment of an international airfield in Thiruvambadi.

Orders were placed with Kozhikode and Malppuram county collecting and managing bodies of the airports. It is a proposal of the Malabar Development Authority. Malabar Development Council argued that if this becomes a real issue, it would be a lasting remedy to the issue of not being able to touch down larger planes at Karipur International Airfield.

Due to the problems with the purchase of the property and the refusal to allow large planes to enter the country, a new airfield is the only one. On May 1, 2015, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) introduced restrictions on wide-body aircrafts such as Boeing 777 and 747 for a six-month term due to the long-prepared reconstruction of the take-off and landing area.

Emirates, Saudia and 2 Air India 747 had to move during this period temporary to Cochin International Air India at Cochin International Headquarters: Cochin International Air India 747. Airports have also voiced doubts that they may continue to run wide-bodied aircrafts from the airfield after the reconstruction work has been completed, as the runways at the airfield are not large enough for the operational use of jetliners.

Previously, AAI had ordered all large-capacity aerodromes to have 240m of RESA in each heading towards Calicut aerodromes at 75m. K. Janardhananan, CEO of the International Carrier Terminal, said the brief take-off and landing strip was a big obstacle for the operation of the wide-body plane from the desk top airfield and that the take-off and landing strip length should be increased from currently 2,850 meters to 3,150 meters in order to run wide-body aircrafts.

One of the biggest hurdles in the extension of the take-off and landing strip is the delays in the purchase of the plots, which necessitate a combined area of 385 hectares of property for the extension of the take-off and landing strip and the associated installations. Since June 10, 2016, not much has been done to extend the length of the runway[9] Now the AAI has come to a diside to maintain a security area to prevent the plane from dropping off the airstrip.
