Accompany one of your groups in the powerful Otaki Gorge for white-water canoeing, overnight canoeing, white water rappelling or tube-driving. From Otaki, there are several companies that can take you into the equestrian paradise within an hour. Cruise along the shore with the breeze in your hairdryer, hike through the local scrub or simply get to know how to horseback in an arena.

There are many possibilities, from a simple hike to an all-day hike. Hydrabad ran ground at Waitatere Strand in 1878, and a 1-kilometer path along this lovely coastline takes you to its sand cemetery. Do this 20-minute hike through the old woods and across a promenade of wetlands. Enjoy the tastes in one of our fancy little cafés or diners, or wander the Otaki or Paraparaumu Farmer's Market (every Saturday) to buy the coolest local products or try elaborate dishes such as homemade delicacies, marmalades and bread.

Join some of New Zealand's expert cheesemakers and taste the delicious flavours. Also Kapiti Ice cream seduces. Produced from farms produce egg and thick lavish whipped cream, Kapiti Ice Crème is a pleasure! Otaki Forks offer 6 hikes from 40 min to 6h. A 45-minute Arcus loop traverses fluvial plateaus, brooks and gorges.

Sheridan Creek Trail traverses the Waiotauru and follows Sheridan Creek upriver, through the scrub and eventually reaches an old wood tractor. Waikanae has a two-section walk (South Bank and North Bank) or you can take a round tour. A breathtaking three-hour voyage that encompasses hilly farmlands, luxuriant indigenous scrub and magnificent rivers.

It also has a wonderful view of the island of Kapiti.
