Together with our Tribal Warrior Association and Babana Aboriginal Mens Group buddies, the East Coast Passage & Maritime Program is just over a weeks away from the start and we now have 10 young men all getting ready to set out from Sydney to Cairns. These men will complete two industry-specific trainings and an internship on the Coral Trekker during the trip from April to June 2018.

Coming from some of the hardest walks and challenging situations, these men are embarking on a life-changing quest that will lead to work. For more information on the East Coast Passage & Maritime Program, see below:

During the very demanding situation that has been experienced by Norfolk Islanders over the past two years, there have been two remarkable and inspirational reactions: 2 ) Fellowship and assistance from all over the world and from all policy, law and NGO organisations.

On 6 February, the outcome of the 6 February session in the British Parliament buildings was overwhelming backing, as announced in the UK public service press and in the Norfolk Islander on 12 February ý a number of moves to enable autonomous control and monitoring of the past and present activity affecting Norfolk Island, as well as documentary and networking coverage at a worldwide basis, involving contacts with specialists and advisers from the Decolonisation Committee, several government agencies from around the globe and the highest levels of NGO-supporting.

At the beginning of this months I was able to present the topics concerning Norfolk Island to the delegate at the World Summit in South Korea. More than 600 representatives with over 400 current members of parliaments from 126 nations provided an exceptional occasion to discuss the problems and the international accepted solutions for Norfolk Island, to have an arbitrator or an independant control group and to start self-determination as soon as possible.

NGOs and UN organisations were well present and when they were told about the activities of the Government of Australia on the island, they committed themselves steadfastly to work with us! When I presented the actual situation several beats. I was even endorsed by the Aussie representative who attended the World Summit and condemned the cruel acts of the federal government.

We are all quite frankly on the right path, we have a sound basis of political (international) and non-governmental aid. And the unlikely fact that Australia's civil servants and agents have relied on the Australia constitution as a "get out of prison free card" because they are not a global accountable corporate of the UN charters and HRC covenants..... again false!

Either the Government of Australia is acting with respect and in accordance with the commitments of the world, or it runs the danger of influencing the nation against a free associative relationship with Australia as part of the result of a self-determination proces. You will find up-to-date news, telephone conferences, working groups and step-by-step onboard.

Sadly, there are still a number of safe havens to be in place, but in the coming few weeks a series of high-level policy, UN and NGO gatherings will aim to launch a six-month programme for Norfolk Island.
