Eating the Chamorro Culture in Guam

Guam's indigenous diet is largely built on what the early forefathers could collect, cultivate and chase from the countryside, and what they could capture and reap from the sea. Like many other fruits and vegetable, the tree of life, the chestnut, provided much coppa, olive acid, coir waters and coiril.

After the end of the Second World War, Guam was flooded with groceries from the American continent, especially with preserved products, which were accepted by the inhabitants of the island because of their taste and their simple use. Guam has since become a Pacific metropolis and a major source of nutrition, combining local flavours with a dozen kitchens that mirror the crucible of man.

Today, Guam is a leading country in Pacific cooking and is at the head of the gastronomic revolutions that swept the globe in the mid-1990s. His many gifted and gifted gourmets and celebrities are always pushing the standard of flavours and presentation, and it's simple to find a world-class food in Guam.

The Guam is the biggest and most southern of the Marianas archipelago. Guam is now an unregistered, organised area of the United States. Guam's population has been US since 1950. In 1521, Guam was probably researched by the portugese seafarer Ferdinand Magellan (who sailed to Spain). It was officially occupied by Spain in 1565 and its inhabitants were subjected and converted to Roman Catholicism from 1668.

Following the Spanish-American War of 1898, Spain surrendered Guam to the United States. Between 1899 and 1949, the U.S. Navy managed Guam, except during the 1941-1944 war. The US Armed Services freed Guam in the mid-1944. Guam's economic activity is driven by travel and US army expenditure (US navies and aerial stations take up a third of the country in Guam).
