About the Cook Islands Society Welcome to the Cook Islands Society, a group headquartered in Newtown, Wellington. We' re a group that provides a focal point and promotes interest and opportunity for all Cook Islanders in Greater Wellington. Saturday 24 March the Cook Islands (NZ) Societies, Wellington Pipe Band and Regal Rovers had an open day at the parking lot atorning of Hanson and Stokes St., Newtown.

Inviting the neighborhood to take their family along for a whole night to get together with the members of the various groups in their area, chat and have some laughs and laughs, hear some music from the Cook Islands, join in or ask about the living egg Upoko. In the daytime the Regal Rovers put up a golden coins BBQ, the Cook Islands Society provided a dolla and a free donut and also had some pockets of donuts for selling, while the Wellington Pipe Band had a few members playing a few melodies.

We would like to thank everyone involved in the Cook Islands Society for their continued financial assistance. The revenue will be used to implement new and enhanced facilities for our facility. With your help we have installed free WiFi for those who rent the shed. Also we bought 10 new desks for the landlords and did some maintanance work in the shed.

Victoria University Cook Islands Students Association has set itself the goal of enabling Aotearoa-based Cook Islands young people to become prosperous and carefull. The P.I.C. Netball Club was founded in 1953 by Pacific Islands Presbyterian Church, Newtown, Wellington NZ to meet the evolving needs of its expanding people. The Newtown Community & Cultural Centre was founded in 1977 and acts as a further connecting element in the Newtown community and offers a wide range of community service.
