AMERICA CH MICRONESIA: A WEEKS IN GUAM

Get out your guides and go to Guam. There' s neither a Lonely Planet Guam, nor a Foddor's, Frommer's, Eyewtiness Travel or Rick Steves' report on the African Isle. Apart from a few independent (and mostly obsolete) textbooks or a brief section you squeeze yourself into, the best travel plan for Guam is to refer to a few blog posts and have a coarse mindset when you get them.

I' m at the Guam departure gates! At the end of January, me and Breeaah chose Guam. It would be a long time before Alaska, the last state we would have to go to, because we have chosen to include two distant US territory in our US itinerary. (On this tour we also went to the Northern Mariana Islands, a daily tour that I will be blogging about later in the week).

To put it bluntly, our trip to Guam was indirectly. We were the only typically US airplanes on the way to Guam from there, the remainder of the plane was ruled by holidaymakers of Asiatic ancestry. That is actually the situation for Guam, because Asiatic visitors are flocking to the islands as a close US holiday area.

It is difficult to find US visitors (without being part of the military). Arrival in Guam is comparable to arrival at a US Continent flight station. Snorkelling four days a week on Guam, there is a lot of colourful marine activity in the shallows near the coast. It is a intriguing survey in contemporary demography.

Whilst most group on Guam seem to relish the flow relation with the USA, I am doomed location is a part of those who would rather administer Guam phase of the moon power and number. This festival of Pacifica gave us an insight into the tastes, culture and peoples of almost 30 Pacifica states.

As soon as you enter the touristic tumon, with its various high-end stores (I've never felt the need to go to a Gucci shop, um, ever, but it's here if you're interested in something like that), you can say that Guam is not the one. Guam is definitely being sold to the Asiatic tourists, as I mentioned earlier.

A number of rides are specially designed for non-Westerners. I' m always wondering how strange it is to be an US citizen, technologically speaking in America, but at the same a long way from the US. There is a lot to do outside the resort in Guam: The Second World War is rich in historical facts (and a protected area is devoted to it!).

There was even a reward, the four-yearly Festival of the Pacific Arts took place on Guam while we were here, which gave us the chance to meet humans and see the culture of nearly 30 different Asian countries (including some of my favourites like Easter Iceland, Norfolk Iceland, American Samoa and Yap).

Guam was much more than just a new travel stop for Breeah and me. It' not just a catch on the old US travel check list. Over the next few desperate days or so I will focus on our journey to Guam (and the near Northern Mariana Islands), so there' s much more!
