2018 OFC Champions League Qualifier starts with tough tournament American Samoa

Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Champions League qualifiers 2018 opened last Saturday evening at the FFAS Pago Park Soccer Stadium with a two-headed ball in which only one of the four teams lost - Lupe o le Soaga from Samoa had to accept a 1-0 defeat after a violent game against Tupapa Maraerenga FC from the Cook Islands, which wounded many people on the pitch.

It was by far the most physically demanding and strained game of the game between the Samoans and the Cook Islands - a violent game between the two that resulted in a number of injures and punishments against each team. Referee was David Yareboinen from Papua New Guinea, who did not delay in sending a Lupe o le Soaga footballer off the pitch with a yellow map in the second half of the game, leaving Samoa with only 10 against the 11 Cooks.

In the first half of the game, both sides held their own and had a good record both in defence and in the run-up. Sadly for Samoa, Tupapa Maraerenga FC was able to recapitalize in the second half of the game from the recurring Samoa's game. Yareboinen Va'a Taualai, a referee from Lupe o le Soaga, sent a little over 20-minute time with a big map from the pitch after fighting between Taualai and Cambell Best in the middle of the game.

The trainers of both sides were even hot as they had an argument inside the coach's Box. In the middle of the second half of the game, the Cook Island side were able to push the game into Samoa with a few key passing and praise.

Magnifier o le Soaga's back Andrew Setefano took a spot kick against her after attacking Maro Bonsu-Maro from behind in the pits and warned her of a spot kick that would take her out of the game. Second and last game of the game was played between Pago Youth as representative of American Samoa under the direction of Head Coach Li'atama Amisone Jr. and the Veitongo FC squad from Tonga under the direction of Head Coach Timote Moleni.

Veer Singh from Fiji was the referee. There was a balanced play between the two, with both scored for a draw. In the first half's 14 minutes, when Veitongo forwards Vai Lutu was attacked from behind by Pago Youth skipper Ryan Samuelu - which caused the first penal kick of the boxing session and gave Veitongo FC the opportunity to play Pago Youth's Eti Fatu in goal when Samuelu was cautioned with a yell-ha!

Veitongo's Soakai Vea free-kick in the area scored Tonga's first strike, but the part-time professional signalled an offside jump and overturned the choice of one. However, in the middle of the first half of the match, Pago Youth took a freekick from mid-field - Nissan Silao scored a long penal spot just ahead of Veitongo goalkeeper Motekiai Faupula - over him and into the gate for the first time.
