In contrast to the dives we would do later on on the Tuamotu Islands, this was a bait dive. The Marquesas set out to find out why these distant lands inspired travellers' dreams. Marquesas to Tuamotus is a drastic landscape change, the atolls lie flat with surrounding reefs, lively blue water.

It is a wealthy eco-system with a host of species of rare bird and plant species, while many of the diving spots are practically unexplored. Coastal living is also peculiar, with picturesque towns, old core colonies and inviting folk - a real flavour of Polynesia. Tuamotus are sanctuary with plenty of light and rains, usually falling in rainfall to keep the waterfall intact.
