This was a unique evening for the Nanuya Island Resort on Saturday, 17 February 2018 - they were awarded the renowned sustainability prize at the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA) 2017 at Sheraton Denarau. A HAPPY NANO YEAR! It is 2018 and our Nanuya family welcomes us to the New Year, here in paradise.

This was a unique evening for the Nanuya Island Resort on Saturday, 17 February 2018 - they were awarded the renowned sustainability prize at the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA) 2017 at Sheraton Denarau. It was only three and a half years ago that Ivan and Val Parker took over the property and leadership of the Nanuya Island Resort with a unique and non-orthodox perspective.

They wanted to run a well-groomed, professional resort of international standards, but they also wanted to establish and offer a sustained and healthful way of life for the population. In the following years, under the visions and work ethics of Ivan and Val Parker, the Nanuya Island Resort became a gem in the Yasawa Crowns.

Solarmodules have been added so that the resort no longer depends on conventional diesel-powered generators. The seawater desalinator provides year round without fear of long droughts affecting the resort or its people. This means that the resort is truly self-sufficient and no longer dependent on purchases from the land - fruits and veggies are also available for sale to nearby communities and towns, giving both the visitor and the locals the much-needed in-ground nutrition.

The construction of a rubbish processing facility, Nalokini Vuvale, the biggest personnel quarter on the island and even a fully functional bread shop, provides a level of convenience previously unheard of in the Yasawa Island. In keeping with their visions, Ivan and Val honoured the employees and backstage employees who have contributed to changing the Nanuya Island Resort in recent years.
