What is there to do in Lanai Hawaii

One could think that Lanai's only activity is walking, snorkelling and playing the game. After all, these are the most favourite outdoor pursuits and the best way to discover nature, but there are also a number of old traditions spread throughout the area. The Lanai Culture and Heritage Center is located opposite Dole Park in the chilly highlands of Lanai City, where old plantations are covered with wood canopies of Cook Islands pine trees.

In this small but educational centre, the visitor can experience the Lanai story from the colonization to the present day and see the local artefacts and the collections of monochrome photographs. One of the best places on Lanai to go to see a hamlet that has been froze in the past is Kaunolu Villa, where Hawaii' chieftains would be spending their summer on the southwest shore of the isle.

Walking along the rocky and arid coast you can see the impressive Halulu hot, which was built on the top, and the nick in the rocks, where King Kahekili would jump bravely into the ocean. This canoeing cottage, or Halé, is still on the shores, and while getting to the place takes a few extra-hikes, it is one of the best Lanai rides for hawaiian heritage and cultur.

On a coastline lined with evergreen palms and surrounded by long sandy beaches, there was once a flourishing, wealthy town and even a sugary farm. This was all changing after 1900, when the orchard was collapsed and pineapples were cultivated in the Palawai Basin - leading to the building of Lanai City and Keomokus Death.

Today, you can take a 4×4 robust 4×4 coach to the historical Malawian churches on a trip along the southeast seaboard and continue your trip to other Lanai sites such as Naha or Lopa Beach. Located next to the bustling Manele Small Boat Harbor, this 80-foot lake pile is a place imbued with the legendary Princess Hawaiians, drama and lyric.

There are none of the dozen different lanai sites left, and it is a place as well known in tourism leaflets as in old traditions.
