Wellcome to Molokai, The Friendly Iceland and Molokai Bicycle. Visit our peaceful little village and savour kilometres of motorways with little noise, nice landscape and lots of biking time. If you are an enthusiastic street or Mountainbike driver or just want to get some refreshing outdoors, Molokai is the right place for you.

Molokai is the "Old Hawaii" lover of the natural world with just over 7,000 people and very little progress. The Molokai is about 38 nautical mile long and 10 nautical leagues across in an east-west orientation. Kaunakak (cow-na-ka-ka-ka-kai), our capital and harbour, lies in the centre of the southern coastline of the isle.

Calaupapa is situated in the centre under the stunning northerly rocks of the isle. Situated about 8 leagues westward of Maui (you can see the Kapalua golf course and all Kaanapali hotels easily) and about 30 leagues eastward of O'ahu. Though we can see clearly specific structures on Maui and O'ahu, Molokai was protected from such developments.

Most of the strong easterly breezes are blowing from the eastern side, so a good drive from Kaunakakakai to the eastern side against the breeze goes up to 27 nautical mile. Up the Kalae Hwy to the viewpoint of Mount Kalaupapa, to the wonderful Pu'u O Hoku Ranch at the eastern end or westwards to Mount Maunaloa.

Site - 80 Mohala St. Kaunakakakakai, Molokai. At the second street on your right after Rawlins Chevron when you come from the West End, or the third on your right after Kaunakakai School when you come from the East End. Free-of-charge dropoffs and pick-ups at Hotel Molokai, Molokai Shores and Kaunakakai Harbor.

It was in 1994 that the teacher and entrepreneur Philippe Kikukawa transformed his second favourite pastime (surfing was his top priority) into Molokai's first and only full-fledged bikecar. Philipp also teaches at Molokai Middle School and Sue is the coordinator of mathematics and science at Kualapu'u Primary School. Kikukawa's are very active in the sea (surfing and canoeing), swim in the Cooke Memorial Pool, hike on Molokai's many paths, cycle, run, ski, travel and enjoy families and mates.

Filippo was borne on Molokai, as were the three boys. Mr. Bennett holds a BA in Business Administration from Washington State University and a M. E. D. from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. They live 1.5 leagues eastwards of Kaunakakakai directly above Tutus (Grandmother's) home on Kamiloloa Heights with views of Maui, Lanai, Kaho'olawe and the Big Island.

Updated 2015 - Michael is a Harvard Jr., Luke will start in February 2016 in Middleberry (VT). and Genevieve is a student of Molokai High School.
