Northfolk Island

Isle of Norfolk is an interesting place. I' d always been told that it was basically a resort for old folks, mainly Aussies and Kiwis, who could fly directly and have a low holiday on the keys to the beaches while still maintaining the country feeling. I was slightly the youngest passenger on the airplane on my trip to Norfolk Island and I would say the next youngest was about 65 years old.

Apart from that, there are some youngsters on the island, the indigenous ones, if you like. As you can guess, it seems to be a very inczestuous island, and I encountered many of them who were intrigued by me and why I was there. which has about six small lots on Norfolk Island.

I got to know some really interesting guys inside. Each of them is alive and has been living on Norfolk most of their life. and a 42-year-old stag. Then she turned around and began talking bullshit to the other folks who were sleeping with so and so and so on.

As you can see, if there are only about 1500 inhabitants on the island and your sampling is very small. It' been very enjoyable for me and made me feel good that the island I am living on has a few more souls!

I' ve been to some kind of country musical event. There is a channel on the local FM system, which always gave violent detail about the country and was playing non-stop country tunes. The tour around the island was simple; it is only 3 times 5 nautical mile in size and light to drive. Some of the most important attractions are the best of the beaches, Emily Bay (photo above and above), which was beautiful but not too great.

That'?s the whole island in general. Cliffs are also beautiful at higher altitudes. There' s a world heritage site on the island, the remnants of an old detention centre named Kingston (above), which is located near Emily Bay. There' s a chilly memorial to Captain Cook and the highest point of the island offers a beautiful panorama view of the island and the two rocky isles just off the coast, about a kilometre away.

In the middle of the 70's Queen Elizabeth went to the island and there is a beautiful viewpoint called after her which looks over the cove and the rugby field under which a competition took place while I was there. As you can see from my smug article about Norfolk, that's exactly what it was for me, smug.

It was a beautiful island, but there wasn't much to do or even to keep my interest. It' s really chilly the story of the jail and that they are descendants of the HMS Bounty rebels, but not like if I was on Pitcairn Island or something. I am satisfied with my stay on Norfolk, but I probably won't be back so soon, at least not before I turn 65 or so!
