The port of Apia, where the river Vaisigano has crossed an opening in the Upolu protecting wall, has a colourful selection of containerships, fishermen' s vessels, ferry and cruise liners.

But Apia is inertial. Snorkelling is possible at Palolo Deep, but the best ones are on the south side of the island, about an hour's car ride away. It is a good starting point for exploring the north of Upolu and there are many accommodations in all budget ranges.

She is Polynesia's core and Apia is the luminous daylight around which the land is revolving.

Sizes of the isles? What is the island tall? It is small enough to travel and travel and live in just one place on each island? Re: Island sizes? It is possible to bypass any island in one go, but you would be terribly rushing and would not have much to see anything!

Look if you can afford to waste a little of your free travel around.... as Deb says, Samoa has the highest number of clean Polynesian in the Pacific, and they are a lovely and soft population. It' s a worthwhile investment of your own efforts and times to get to know the true nature!

And I think you'd be most wise if you stay on both sides of the island. It took us 2 1/2 of a day to get to Savaii and since then we have noticed that we have been missing a heap.
