Samoa Travel

At the end of June/beginning of July my boyfriend and I will travel to Samoa for a whole sabbatical. We' ve spent our first few days in a place in Lalomanu and wondered how best to get there from the city' s main city? We have a 4:00 p.m. plane to the city.

Is it possible to hire a scooter or a bicycle in Samoa? We' d like to go to the Lalomanu shuttle across the islands and would like to know how much a cab would be if someone had an estimate - I've seen it in previous fora, but they're all pretty old now.

It' quite far from Lalomanu. Cabs do not like driving up the coast from the south coast to the quay because of the Ford, so they usually calculate more for this route - they usually pass the Aiport. To Sua etc. in Lalomanu, you can find a taxi (about 40/50 Tala) and often other people.

Bicycles are about 50/60 tall pp (and are best collected when you get there, as they are near the shipyard/airport....so no less expensive alternative than a cars. Roughly the same rate, but can accommodate two people (they can be hired in Apia). To rent a bike, visit Moto Samoa's Facebook page.

Alternatively, you can take the scooter by boat to Savaii, which saves you the taxisticket. It would be about the same as from the Lalomanu International Terminal, as the landing stage is only 10 min from the Aiport.
