Seven days in paradise: Kauai, Hawaii

We had an over-sold connection to Honolulu, so we voluntarily waived our seat, moved up to first grade on a one-way to Lihue and were awarded $1,000 in travel credit. This is a great way to begin our trip to Kauai for a whole weekend! Alii Kai II, our "home away from home" for this weekend.

In Kauai we spent a whole weekend by means of a timesharing swap, although this real estate can also be reserved via various reservation pages. On Kauai Isle there is so much to experience that we are putting together a whole new position on the squares in Kauai! Since we were stationed in Princeville during our trip to Kauai, we had to pass the Hanalei Valley stage overlook several times during our stop.

We strongly recommend renting a vehicle during your visit to Kauai Isle. We had a great success during this journey with a personal chopper ride over the isle. Our one-hour journey took us more than a ticket to Kauai, but it was really rewarding!

On the way to the southern side of the isle is the famous tree tunnel. Kauai in Kalaheo is a recommendable stopover for deep L-lovers. I' m not drinking a cup of tea myself, so that was all for Sam! Neighborhood was totally nice, so I just loved the landscape while Sam had some free coffees; his favourite was the coir-crunch.

There is no lack of nice shoreline on Kauai from Lydgate Beach's driftwood-covered banks to the steep Mahaulepu crags. Watch Hwaiian Monks seal lying in the hot summer air on Po'ipu Bay and swimming with tortoises on Tunnels Bay. As you head to Opeaka'a Falls, stop at the viewpoint overlooking the Wailua River. A little further down is the turn-off to Opeaka'a Falls. From Opeaka'a falls we continue to Wailua Falls. We have taken the street to get there and it ends up in a literal impasse in the car park for the crash.

Near the waterfalls there are a number of shops that sell handmade goods such as basketwork, pearls and silk. The Wailua Fall became popular because he appeared in the opening show Fantasy Island in the 70s. The Kalalau Trail is one of the best walks in Kauai. The Mahaulepu Heritage Trail was one of our favourite finds of the time.

The Hanalei Bay Scenic Lookout is a nice print on the way from Princeville to Hanalei. Behind the St. Regis of Princeville, the sandy beaches are another stunning place to observe the sunset. While we wanted to go first-class and receive more travel coupons, this trip was not overbooking. Well... maybe next to you!
