My family and I (in the early 1930s) start planning our first trip in May-June. We will probably spend a whole day in Kauai and a whole day in Maui. You want to be at a bathing spot, near a restaurant or bar (on foot or by car), you will rent a vehicle and you want to be very busy (not just lazing around).

At the end of May/beginning of June is a good date for a stay? Which part of Kauai do you suggest? Do you have any particular hotels? Will you go to Kauai first or last? End of May/beginning of June is a good period to see Kauai. This is the season when the northern bank offers the best opportunities for swim and snorkel.

Situated on the northern bank of the St... The apartments are all located on the northern bank of Princeville, on a cliff above the sea, so it requires a walk or a brief trip to the large northern shores. The majority of Hanalei's northern riverside stores and dining facilities are located in Hanalei.

I' d go to Maui first and finish my trip in Kauai, as it is much more relaxed and soothing. Mai/June is a great period. A lot of people enjoy the luxuriant northern bank in summers. Stay right on the seashore is not as easy as most accommodation in Princeville, which is on a cliff.

But you can also spend the night in a cabin in Hanalei or on Anini Beaches or on other beaches. When you want a hotel/apartment directly on the sea front, it is much simpler to reach it on the southern side (Poipu) or the eastern side (LIhue-->Kapaa). Failing that, you just get the northern coast lovers/owners saying northern and those who lean the other way that says southern or eastern.

Purchase a travel guide - Kauai Reevealed is very well-loved. North and south coast. Visit Old Style or Hanalei Beach Cottage at www.beachkauai. com Also at North Shore Hanalei Colony Resort might be a good choice. At the south coast we are renting private at Kiahuna Plantation.

And I like the ultimate Kauai Guidebook. I' always tell people to end the trip on Kauai. You' ll have more of this "mega hotel" on Maui, so get it over with and then chill out on Kauai. There is a lot of good information about walking, snorkelling (North Shore safe) and other adventure.

May is my favourite season on Kauai. The Underground Kauai Guide by Lenore Horowitz is one of the most popular Kauai guidebooks with a good survey and great recommendations on every topic in an easy-to-understand form. Simply know that it will be a long days to grab, checkout, drive out to the airfield, return a rental vehicle, travel to the other islands, collect a rental vehicle, travel to your hotels, register and unwrap.
