The Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort is located on a 100 metre long beach of fine sandy beaches on the large Upolu Islands and is only a five minutes car ride from Faleolo International Airport (APW). There is a lot to see and do on shore and at sea in Samoa.

Charters a vessel and spends the days angling for blacks or blueberries, yellowfin-tunny, wahoo, gigantic revally or corn mai. Walk in one of Samoa's luxuriant nature reserves to enjoy the scenery and the abundance of birdlife. Go cycling to see the Samoan countryside or observe a typical Samoan style Kricket match known as Cilikiti.

Accept Samoa's legacy by going to a nearby town and participating in a cava ( "root") ritual. You are sure to see a show of the charming feminine stage dancing, the firemen' s knives and the men' slaps dancing named fa'ataupati. Attend a typical handmade wood carvings, basket, jewellery and colorful lavalava (sarongs) at a typical regional fair.

Enjoy tasty shellfish such as lobster, snappers, corn mai, squid and thuna. Tartar, bread fruit and banana are other common Samoan cuisines. The most Samoans prepare their meals in a warm rock stove known as utu. Among the locals' delights are pasta (young tartar sheets fried in crème coconut) and oca (raw cod in crème coconut).

They are all made of exquisite fabrics and have climate control and overhead ventilators, coffee/tea making equipment, hairdryers, electronic safe deposit boxes and refrigerators. BEACCHFFALES ( (one room, maximum 3 persons; two bedrooms, maximum 5 persons): Situated on a sand beach, just a few metres from the sea, these accommodation has unrivalled open-air baths with rocky lavas and a submerged bathroom under a privately owned cascade.

The Beach Forales are one or two bedrooms, one bathroom and have a shared floor with seperate living room. Each of the one room bedrooms offers a king-size-falsa ( (4), the two bedrooms have a king-size-falsa ( (2)) in one room and two single cots in the other.

BEACH BILLAS RYAL beach billas ryal (Pule & Alii, 3 people maximum; Matai, 5 people maximum): Coconuts have" the most beautiful rooms in Samoa", Conde Nast Traveler said, and her newest accommodation - the RBVs - are no anomaly. This is the most roomy suites of mansions in all of Samoa, if not the whole of the South Pacific.

Two one-storey beach houses (Villa Pule and Mansion Ali'i) flank a huge two-storey main house (Villa Matai). Each of the two accompanying mansions measures over 600 square metres, with bedrooms, living room, walk-in wardrobe, desk and large open-air bath, completely with stone lavas and waterfalls.

Each of the three mansions is architectural in its own right, with external walling of the rooms and dormitories, built entirely of masts and glazing, with a divided plain, open beamed ceiling and 180 degrees view, all finished with hardwood s, fine worked rocks of stone and wonderful quarzite tiles. Linked by a roofed overpass, these mansions can be reserved as a whole set or separately, making them ideal for couples, groups or groups of up to ten or more.

The six Over-the-Water Festivals are uniquely designed to encompass the smooth interior and exterior life that is so loved throughout Samoa. Every fale offers a stunning view of the beach, lake and sea with stunning sundown. One of the highlights of these exceptional over-the-water fish dishes are the spacious deck from which visitors can relax and unwind.

There is a large double room with a king-size berth that opens onto the decks but can be locked with large glazed folding windows for those who wish to use the A/C. The large double room has a double glazed balcony. Directly next to the master suite are doorways that open to a small mini-deck. In the Fale there are the open-air baths, which have become renowned for their coconuts.

There is a large open plan bath room with an obscure blanket that lets in a lot of daylight. Over-the-Water Fales are different from any other lodging in the whole wide globe. There are both Coco Suites and "Tree House" suites with sea views, all very large with coffee/tea making facility, fridge, private bath, hairdryer, electric room safe, AC and overhead fan.

The Coco suites each consist of a large double room and a large living room with one or two extra beds. Every room and living room has its own outdoor bath (two full bathrooms!), with a recessed bathtub with stone lavaflower.
