On the map the positions of the boat are written by hand on a round voyage from San Francisco to Acapulco (March-April 1852) and then towards Boston in May 1852. Northern Light was an US clipboat. Sailing from San Francisco, California to Boston, Massachusetts in 1853 over Cape Horn with Captain Freeman Hatch at the wheel in a recorded time of 76days6hours.
