For those who have never been to Cook Islands before, a 50, 50 or 60:40 splits between Rarotonga and Aitutaki will allow you to relax and soar. Rarotonga has more things to see and do, but if your teens are enjoying the waters and discovering the beaches, you will also be enjoying Aituaki for a Christmas time.

In Rarotonga you might want to remain where there is better protection from heavy eastern and south-eastern winds in it. It would be fun to take part in a spa treatment during which local recreational and leisure facilities are organised. At Aitutaki, two sessions side by side at Paradise Cove would be in your bank. When you take the Sydney one-way ticket on a Thursday evening, you simply return from Aitutaki in the mornings.

Aitutaki is also available as an end or start point on Air NZ, with Air Raro codesharing with Air NZ in Switzerland. It seems from what you say that this is the guy you are looking for on Raro, but a place on Aitutaki. It is very breezy this year on the southern and south-eastern coast, but often during the summers they are looking for a breeze to keep the temperature down and the humidity down.

During this season many C iers are leaving the countryside for colder regions such as New Zealand, although many others who live abroad are returning for a vacation with family.

I have slept in several places on the islands, among them Arorangi and Aroa. As I said before, Vaimaanga is also a very good place to spend the night. Titicaveka and Vaimaanga are ideal for bathing, snorkeling, kayaking and hiking on the beaches. At Titikaveka you can sometimes have the shore to yourself and it is only a brief stroll to the protected area of Tikioki.

Did you have a look at the page of the cottages? Still no rains, but there were more downpours over Titicaveka and the part of the isle that is already common at this season. You need a rental vehicle, but at least if the wind is terrible and the oceans are harsh for bathing and canoeing, as they have been all weekend, they can go to the other side of the islands to create better sailing in.
