Island Samoa - Review of Isla Saona, Parque Nacional del Este, Dominican Republic

Nice isle with a wonderful sandy beaches and flat waters, ideal for children. The lunches at the shore were great with a wide range of dishes. So we took our 6 months old infant with us and had no problem (we took our own lifejacket for babies on the speedboat).

From LaRomana we took a boat to Saona Isle. We' ve had the V.I.P. adventure with barbecued Lobstertail, Mahi-mahi, barbecued Hen and beef. There was also a seafood meal, potato, salad, veg. On the way to the isle, we stop for snorkelling and another place to see starfish.

Have you been to Isla Saona?

Framework of Regional Partnership: For Kiribati, Republic of Nauru, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, Independent State of Samoa, Kingdom of Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu, FY17-FY21

Kiribati, Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Republic of Nauru, Republic of Palau, Independent State of Samoa, Kingdom of Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. They are IDA-enabled and have significantly increased the WBG's visibility and commitment in recent years. RPF is building on strengthening its commitment with Samoa, Tonga, and Kiribati and its capacity to manage significantly more FSM, RMI, Vanuatu, and Tuvalu assets, following their recent classification as IDA-enabled.

RPF also outlined the option of engaging with Nauru and Palau, which are ICFTUs. To sum up, this RPF will lead a WBC commitment in the Pacific that builds on what has been accomplished so far, but also strives for further impact in three ways. Secondly, the WBCs programme, which builds on the results of the SCD and other recent analyses, will be very select and will focus on assisting them to make the most of some important opportunity and to reduce efficiently the major income and livelihood threats to which they are exposed.

Third, the WBG programme will pay particular attention to the causes of fragile conditions in the Pacific (issues of Palestinian institutions capacities, juvenile and urban populations and urbanisation, climatic changes and catastrophes, and gender) in order to improve the viability of the actions undertaken and the advances made.
