Paraparaumu Golf Club

The Paraparaumu Golf Club

Paraparoomu Beach Golf Club A real left course since we crossed the "Graben". Para'm, phonetic, as the natives call it, lies directly on the coastline in the classical, hilly connecting country. Originally, it was a traditional seaside resort that the designer was lucky enough to have to work on, and it was in the 1920s that golf was practiced over these sandhills.

Around 1948, the club harnessed the full service of Alex Russell, the 1924 Australian Open champion, Dr. Alister MacKenzie, and accompanied by a Douglas Whyte of R & A Glory, to identify and exploit the full power of the available lands to build the connections we see today.

In 1949 the renovated Para'm was opened for game. Today, at the PBGC, the golf players are equipped with a harmonious link design. It seems that the predominant winds are quartered from all directions, as two bores in the same directions are rare. The Paraparaumu Beach GC has organized no less than twelve New Zealand Open Championships.

I' was lucky enough to have seen the bordering Royal St. George's and Royal Cinque Ports in sandwich and I am convinced that'Para'm' would be the most comfortable place between these two of them. It is a beautiful hilly area bordering the coast. I' m comparing it to the big left in Rye, England.

There are plenty of lies to be found on these hilly, winding courses. Just great placing finishes, quick, real and absorbable with all kinds of interesting waveforms. The classical Russell/MacKenzie look, most clearly with the pots next to the third greens - a genuine test of your skills with the club in your pocket.

In order to confirm this fact, a fast threefold stepped in on the tie three seconds after an extended stay to the front lefthand greenside crock that is sporting the'tiered' face needily to the old Southern England marriages classes. I didn't get into a'bull roar' of gambling to my disability - however - perhaps because of my apparent fondness for golf clubs, by'a road', the most pleasant round, on, in my view, the best place found on this stay in'The Country of the Long Blanket'.

One brief side note - Alex Russell only created four master designs while doing handicrafts and giving suggestions on a few more. These four golf courses, Royal Melbourne, Lake Karrinyup, Yarra Yarra and Paraparaumu Beach, came together in 2014 to form the Alex Russell Society with the aim of exploring and promoting the golf industry of the name giver.

Our first get-together took place in Western Australia, at Lake Karrinyup, a square that has recently been restored to its former Russell-style. Paraparaumu Beach, his second social event in 2015, will be held by his sister city.
