Fiji Travel Guide

There are two large airfields in Fiji, one in Suva and one in Nadi. Nadi receives the most visitors. Lautoka is the northern harbour city, the gate to many of Fiji's islands while Denarau is situated just north of Nadi and is connected to the group of Mamanuca' islets.

Fiji's inhabitants (approx. 800,000) are 48% Fijians, 41% Indians, the rest Asians, Europeans and Polynesians. Fiji's most memorable experience is the warmness and true kindness of the Fijipeans. Fiji's primary English is the native tongue, but all the natives either talk Fiji or Hindustani.

The majority of the resort offers a physician on site at certain times or at least on call. Fiji is in a storm from January to March. The majority of Fiji's families offer children's lunches. In general, the Fiji region has very good and reasonably priced foods.

Several of Fiji Resorts' websites provide information on what foods are available and how much they cost. Please try to stay away from the major restaurants (unless it is a well-known and favourite restaurant). A number of the resort have free mealtimes and some provide free children's snack. In Fiji, drinking is generally quite safe on land, but all Fiji resort towns have abundant bottle drinking.

There is nowhere to buy if you are arriving at your resorts very early in the day or early in the mornings. It' a difficult option for Fiji traveling family. We' ve been to some of them and would always choose an isle first - but that would depend on your own preference.

You can travel the continent, go to the big cities, buy cheaper goods in the supermarket, visit sights. They have landbased facilities such as playing a game of football or playing a game of the game. The food is of a much better standard and selection due to the seclusion of the isles. You can still take a full outing to an isle.

Some of the hotels are two hour drive by coach from Nadi. In most of the hotels you can go snorkelling and swimming right in front of the Boer. In our experience the wheather on the archipelago seems to be much better. Boat trip to the isle is much more relaxed than a coach trip to a continental resor.

Only a few of our resort facilities provide A/C. The majority of the island (except Treasure) has its own reservoir. Fiji offers a wide range of fun and entertainment options for the family. The Fiji Museum Suva Located in the historic Thurston Gardens of Suva, the Fiji Museum is unique on the island for its extensive collections of human and historic materials.

Colo-i Suva Forest National Park The Colo-i Suva Forest National Park is located about 20 min from Suva on the side street to Nausori. Duty-free in Fiji is similar to Australia, so you won't get any great offers. Fiji's apparel manufacturing sector is large, so there are many good looking clothes at great rates.

Unfortunately, your Fiji shoppin' is not always a delight. The roads in Nadi are very tight, with a lot of road congestion, so you have to have the children under control. When you shop in Nadi or Sigatoka, you should definitely go to a grocery store and collect some food for your holidays.
