Whilst the vast majority of the inhabitants of the region shop and sit in the streets in the weeks before Christmas 2013 and try to overcome the hot weather, the young and old of the town of Fagasa were employed during the first Fagasa Youth Rally, which took place from 21 to 23 December.

Over 500 participants of different age groups took part in the rally organized by the clergy of the CCCAS, the Catholic Church and the congregation of God in Fagasa. Ituau Malosi lazy Rep. Taotasi Archie Soliai was also participating, along with rural chieftains andlders. Main sponsor of the rally was the DPS Office of Highway Safety, which also had an important part to play in last summer's Pago Pago Youth Rally.

Fagasa Rally started with a procession, followed by the opening ceremony. DHS, DYWA, DOH, OHS, DHS, ASEPA, DOA, DOA et die American Samoa Alliance Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. During the three days of the meeting, young people from the different confessions of Fagasa presented their Christmas programme with sacred music, dance and Bible sketches.

There is a myth on Tutuila Island about the large-eyed skad that appears in the bay of Fagasa. Many years ago the polynese sailor Liava set sail for Tutuila in quest of the clean Fagasa river. Accidentally, the ship left while his daugther Sina was still on land to collect clean mud. Later, when Liava'a realised this, he became angry and tossed his whole team into the ocean with the order to go back to Fagasa, find Sina and defend her forever.

In order to speed up their returns to Fagasa, the men were turned into porpoises, who then drove atule' s training ashore to ensure that everyone who took care of Sina would be wellnourished. She was adopted by the Lilio chieftain's household in the village of Fagasa. Liava'a, however, never gave up his quest for Sina and years later they were briefly united.

According to the traditions, after the deaths of Liava'a and Sina, their memory was forever kept in specific rocks, which are still today guarded by HC Lilio, who is in charge of all the activities related to the collection of atulets, thus maintaining the continued esteem of the town for the generosity of these species.
