West Isles Cruises orders a new catamaran for 42 passengers in operation April 2018

After successfully acquiring Knoydart Ferry Service in April 2016, Western Isles Cruises Ltd has launched a specially designed 42-passenger catamaran to expand cruise capacities for passengers wishing to travel to this wonderful outlying area. This ship is known as the larvae, after the Munro on the Knoydart Peninsula.

In addition to the current ships powered by Western Isles Cruises, MV Western Isles and Big Dipper, there is an 81-seater ship and a 10-passenger redbay rib. There will be some delay in departure in June due to our summer schedule and the ships' turn.

Inerie to Mallaig - Western Isles Cruises

Inerie is a small remote town 6 leagues from Loch Nevis. When you stay in Inverie or just spend the night, you can take a nice one hours long boat ride from Inverie to Tarbet on the top of Loch Nevis. It is breathtaking when you leave Inverie from Monday to Friday at 15:00 in April until the end of October, this beautiful little journey will return to Inverie at 16:15 and return to Mallaig at 17:00.

The voyage cannot be booked via the website, but the ship can accommodate 81 people.

Sailing to Inverie - Western Isles Cruises

Malylaig is a small fishermen town at the end of the A830 from Fort William. You will find all timetables for buses and trains in the itineraries. The Western Isles ticket agency is located at the old jetty directly on the main road. It will take about 30-45 min. to get to Inverie, according to the type of vessel you are taking.

First and last boots of the daily are usually the quicker ones, which take about 30 mins. MV Western Isles is a traditionally built ship with wood and bathrooms and a snack area. Arrival 15 mins before departure. When you have a large amount of baggage and cargo, please take 30 min. so that we can charge the cat.

Restrooms and beverages are provided on all vessels. Every cruise depends on the conditions, please have a look at the website to see if there are any problems. Full reimbursement will be made if the trip is reversed. Usually we do not invoice baggage, but we can levy a small fee if it is an abnormally large amount of it.
