From Vanuatu to the Solomon IslandsThere are currently five carriers offering regularly scheduled airlines to Honiara. The Solomon Airline, Virgin Australia, Fiji Airways (formerly Air Pacific), Air Niugini and Air Vanuatu offer flight to the Solomon Islands. Since then Qantas has been a code share of Solomon Airline. From Brisbane and Sydney (Australia), Nadi (Fiji), Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea) and Port Vila (Vanuatu) there are non-stop connections to Honiara.
The Solomon Airlines is the domestic airline and operates four daily services from Brisbane to Honiara, once a week from Sydney and offers daily services from Nadi, Port Vila and Port Moresby. Port Moresby Services operates in combination with Air Niugini and Air Vanuatu as a code share arrangement with an Air Niugini airplane.
Also Virgin Australia flies directly from Brisbane twice a weekly. Most travelers from North America travel through Los Angeles and either Brisbane or Nadi. Ask the airline for the latest and most accurate information on flights. The Honiara International Airport (formerly known as Henderson Field) is situated about 12 km eastwards of Honiara.
Minibuses and taxis are available to and from the Honiara International Airports and all over Honiara. You will find common amenities such as duty-free stores, ATMs and bureaux de change at the Aiport. Solomon Islands are a favorite destination for yachty. When you arrive by ferry, first apply for release at an authorized port of entry before going on land on an isle.
Currently the following countries are authorized harbours of entry: Honiara, Korovou (Shortland Islands), Gizo, Ringgi, Yandina, Tulagi and Graciosa Bay. Boats that travel to the islands after formal check-in should still register at every harbour where they have an agency.
