8 - Tour de la Côte-Nord et de l'Île du Cercle

We drive over the Ko'olau Mountains to the upwind side and enter the legendary Valley of Temples, where we see the scenic Byodo-in Temple, situated at the bottom of the breathtaking 2,000-foot tall verdant reef.

Featuring hundreds of fierce peafowl and hundreds of Japonese carps, among them a reflective lake, meditative alcoves and small falls, as well as the fierce and jagged East Oahu coast. Further north to Kahuku we stop at a prawn ranch and one of the most popular local prawn truck where you will be offered a tasty garlick prawn, seafood or poultry platter and shingled hawaiian icecream.

The next stop is the world-famous Sunset Beach, where unbelievable surfing is guaranteed, especially between November and April. Along the breathtaking shoreline of the mythical Waimea Bay we stop at a well-known sun and feed place to search for green sea turtles. We travel through the colourful and historical Haleiwa town, known in North Shore and home to many surfer, artists and craftsmen.

Because of the length of this round trip and the area it covers, you should plan a pleasant drive back to Waikiki.
