HSC-4, HSM-78 Return to Naval Airfield North Island

The" Black Knights" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 4 and the" Blue Hawks" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 78 will be returning to the area of operation of the US fleet with Carrier Strike Group 1 and Carrier Air Wing 2 on 22 June after a six-month missions. The helicopters will be deployed in the United States.

During the entire operation, HSC-4 employees and MH-60S Seahawk choppers were deployed on board the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). On board the USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112), USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108), USS Lake Champlain (CG 57) and USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) HSM-78 employees and MH-60R Seahawk were used. The main areas of application of HSC-4 are logistic, naval assistance, portability, search missions, anti-surface threats, specialized force assistance, and management, surveillance and communications.

The HSM-78 can be used for searching and rescuing, mobile, electronic combat, naval patrol, anti-submarine combat, as well as guidance, surveillance and communication.

The San Clemente Island Naval Aviary, 70 nautical mile north-west of San Diego on the California Channel Islands, is one of them. Another is Outdoor Landing Field Imperial Beach, 10 leagues southward of the US-Mexico frontier basis. In its operation, the flight station looks like a small town.

The naval station Coronado also includes Camp Morena. With its own parklands, beach, residential and recreational areas and large facilities such as Naval Air Depot Civilian Employment Opportunities (NADEP). There is currently no basic transport on this system. A Transport Incentive Programme (TIP) is in place to issue coupons so that transport to and from the workplace is free of charge for the working staff.

Situated on 3225 North Harbor Drive, three leagues northeast of San Diego city center and about 9 leagues from Naval Base Coronado (NBC). The NBSD does not sponsors a transport from the airfield to the airfield, but ask your commando if a working rider or your commando sponsoring officer can take over the transport. Taxis are available from the airports to the bases. Metro Transit System (MTS) runs to and from the San Diego International Center and San Diego International Airports, which can link you to the city center by car, rail and other local buses.

Volunteer Ambassadors are available for local transport and floor transport at the information desks in the luggage check-in area of Terminal 1 and 2. When you decide, go to the San Diego Commuters website to schedule which means of transport you will use from the Aiport to your final destinations.
