I do the same and I encounter you there in 2052 when it opens for a spectacular prize of $20,000 a dark. its really available now from what i can capture, they are offering a 6 dark for $15,000 US per group. Fashion too expensively to be a complex number look how umpteen of the playing period costly getaways have staggered!

The island looks stunning, but don't think I'll ever see it. and I have a creeping hunch she's gone down in the mud. and turn it into a cash-forest.

I wouldn't buy Katafanga Island if I had the cash.

We will stay 2 week and there seems to be a great deal to do as there are several small island in the immediate vicinity. I will probably use a canoe to go to Nanuya Balavu Island, Drawaqa Island and Naviti Island. Distance between these isles is very short.

Does anyone know the magnitude of the sea when travelling between the isles? I will also take a boat to Waya Island and maybe go to Wayawesa Island. Do you have rules against campsites? So is it against the law to go campin' for the area?

I' ve seen a Pacific Boa on Waya twice, but they will move away from you and are not a threaten. They are poisonous, but too small to take a nibble. It is advisable to use snowshoes in the waters on non-resort areas, as there is the option of stone fish - they are hidden under the sands and are very poisonous.

Consult the resort personnel to determine whether a particular day's travel is recommended. You wouldn't have a problem traveling between these isles on a good outing. Campsite is not really an optional extra. The whole country (and the nearby beach and the sea) belongs to the locals. From the Octopus Resort or Nalauwaki Village, if you like walking, there are some great hikes - absolutely led - very precipitous and you need good walking boots (although the leaders are often barefoot!), but great outlooks.

There' s no tent. Oceans can become very harsh, even if the isles are not too far apart and there are heavy wind conditions. Stonefish are the big concern. Use a resort or an oceanside to drive one. You may not be lucky if you take one of its leisure boats from the resort area.

Concerning camping....my conception of campsite is NOT conventional campsite. I' d be leaving no traces of my own and no one would know I was up there because I had no fire. However Waya and Naiviti look quite big, so I don't think anyone would ever see me. Unfortunately I would probably not have enough to walk down the "mountain" on Waya to get to a ship and eventually get across the sea.

Do you know where I can find more information about this walk? As already stated to an answer to Marilyn, I will be "Stealth-Camping", so no fire and I always leaves "no traces". Would it be simpler in your mind to stay at the Resort / Returnpackers Resort?

How can I find more information about the Backpacker Resort on the island? With regard to marine animals such as stonefish, I assume that 2mm neopren boots would do? There are waders too and I could have them. I use a resort lifeboat.... I will tell you everything before depart. Truly treasured! the most perilous creature in the whole wide globe - the gnat is living in Fiji.

We' re going back a little, but to camp on privately owned property, and just show up and camp on tribe isles is just a no. Neopren boots are not very well protected against stonefish - you need a firm soles, like e.g. watersandals or riff-boots. Some years ago we encountered humans who had been standing on stonefish - the topical cure was aching.

Agreing with the stonefish, we saw at least three well disguised specimen hung around the Waya/Nacula Island cliffs, while we snorkelled, God knows how many more we haven't found. I am not sure if there are boar on the island - I know that they are abundant in the interior of Viti Levu.

The island is not allowed to camp at any of the campsites or at any of the campsites. You, INSPECTOR, would find your suggested activity in steam. It was severely affected and so severely damaged by a hurricane. One might ask if it is possible to remain there, but many villagers still live in relief shelters.

Soso' s on the island of Naviti. It' their country and you need a permit to remain or go camping or even go to a town where you can't just show up. Our overnight stayers went off on their own without saying anything.
