The Kapiti Coast is a Lower North Island area with pristine shores, streams, villages, welcoming communities and untouched open space from Paekakariki to Otaki. Only 40-90 minutes by car or 60 minutes by rail from the closest towns or Palmerston North and Wellington. Located on the west coast, the city has a front line seat every night at sundown in Tasman and the seafood and crisps on the shore tastes better under a warm sundown than anywhere else in the game.

There is a public transport between Paraparaumu, Paraparaumu Beach, Waikanae and Waikanae Beach. There is a coach between Otaki, Te Horo, Peka Peka and Waikanae. From Paekakariki to Waikanae, the railway stops in Paraparaumu. Paraparaumu taxi is another possibility. Our area has many natural and natural reserves, such as the famous Kapiti Island, woodland and provincial parklands, estuars and marshlands.

The Waikanae Estuary Scientific Reservation is home to over 60 bird populations and is bordered by the Waikanae rivier. Otaihanga domain in Paraparaumu is a nice place for picnics and a secure water park for children. It' also an excellent base for walks on the northern or southern side of the riverbank, where the paths are perfect for prams, cycling and hiking.

The Kapiti Iceland is one of New Zealand's most important protected areas and is situated in a protected area. From Paraparaumu Beach Boating Club, the 15-minute cruise starts every day at 9am. From secluded coastlines to bustling crowded families where you can enjoy a day of picnic, swim, fish, kayak, surf and sail. The beach of Otaki is ideal for walking and angling and offers a magnificent view of the Tararuaanges. The Waikanae has a beautiful science reservation and migrating bird.

At Paraparaumu Beach you will find sandboats. Roomati is good for windsurfing and bathing and Paekakariki provides windsurfing and great coastline hikes in Queen Elizabeth Park. The Otaki Forks is a major entry to Tararua Forest Park. Heidi Matenga in Waikanae provides a short hike with a beautiful panoramic views of Kapiti Island and good hiking and hiking trails.

The route has a number of possibilities, so that you can either go 30 min. on foot or up to 3-4h. The Otaki outlets include the big names in outdoors apparel and fashions. The Coastlands Shopping Town in Paraparaumu has more than 100 shops and is a comfortable place for eating, shopping, fashion, beautiful things, and more.

The beach has a mixture of handicraft, apparel and gifts stores and on Saturday mornings there is a fair for fruits and veggies and local products. Roomati Beach is a favourite for fashions and household goods; and Paekakariki has an ecological artshop, second-hand stores and a funky designer boutique that also sells cafe.

On the Kapiti coast there are several cafés and restuarants for every taste and culture.
