We' re planing to come to New Zealand next year in our June holiday time. We' ll arrive at Auckland International First. Children want to see snow fall in June and New Zealand seems to be the best choice. Someone can help us with the route and the places where the probability of snow is highest in June (preferably on the North Island).

The Tongariro NP in the center of the North Island is the best choice for snowfalls in June. Auckland to Wellington Overlander trains run on a schedule several nights a day a week. Sail to the National Park town and take the MTB to Ruapehu to the Happy Valley ski fields.

What is your New Zealand length of sojourn? We' re going to spend some quality holidays in Auckland / Wellington. When snow and falling snow is such a top of the list, you should go to Queenstown and the Lower South Island. Snow Planet - just off Auckland City is the nearest airport to see/experience snow.

Other than that - Central Plateau - Mt Ruapehu/ Ngaruahoe/ Tongariro area is where you will find - and this is on the way between Wellington and Auckland. There is a good point about Telly, but if you either want or need to remain on the North Island, there will be snow on Mount Ruapehu, and there will be enough of it to keep you intrigued, especially if you've never seen him before.

Put on your clothes in shifts - and think of the skiing coats and overtrousers and mittens so that you can make snow-angel, snow-balls and so on. You have very little chance of actually seeing snow, unless you are staying on top of the mountain, or there is a large snowfall up to low altitude.
