Is Easter Island in Chile

For how long do you remain on Easter Island? I' m just curious how long it's still profitable to be on Easter Island. I' m planing to fly from the city of Santtiago and want to see the sculptures, but I'm almost sure there's nothing else to do there (as far as I know).

So, I wonder if it's really rewarding to sleep, should I make a reservation for a room or should I try to get there early, explore the island and then return the same time?
