East coast from and to Wellington

It is the way of the seaside enthusiast to Wellington, with a portion of vineyard on the side. Start with the city and maritime delights of Auckland and continue to the calm coves of the Coromandel coast. In the mountains you will find a number of windsurfing resorts that simply do not stop.

After Nip returns to the coast to find Opotiki, the unforgettable voyage around the Eastern Cape begins. It is a place to experience sea adventure, vineyards, forest strolls and city refinement. Thames, the historical Township, was established during the Coromandel goldrush. It is a great place for walking - around the city, through the scrub and on the walkway.

There is a stunning mineralogy library in the mine and many of the bushwalks contain relicts of gold-diggers. Coromandel is nestled on the coast. You will have a breathtaking view and a permanent parade of wonderful Pohutukawa tree sandy beach. Once a gold-digger and wood city, Coromandel is now a paradise for artisans, craftsmen and nature-lovers.

The area has several good hikes and a railroad friend has organized a one-hour rail ride at Drive Creek. Whitianga is the home of a fishermen's boat - you' ll find delicious shellfish while you're here. The best activities are windsurfing, surfcasting and walking on the beaches.

Whitianga offers a wide range of beach activities, aquatic activities and boating in Mercury Bay. Await great shellfish and take one or two walks in the woods.

We just got back from circling the Eastern Cape. From Napier to Gisborne and then to Whakatane through some very isolated areas. Streets are very curvy and the parts are in rather bad shape and you are going up or down all the time. You know, some folks do the Eastern Cape in one go.

and Napier's marvelous. Try visiting Hastings and Havelock North and continue to Te Mata Peak. Beautiful view, great beaches, many cafés, dining, beautiful saltwater swimming pool. Picturesque, goldmining story and relicts, many strolls, exploration tunnel. The above journey took us over 7 whole nights and in the opposite directions.
