Boat Trip to Waiheke Island
Cruise to Waiheke IslandSelf led tour through Waiheke Island | New Zealand
Since arriving in Auckland, we wanted to go to Waiheke Island, but the prizes have really put us off! Taking over the truck would have been $150 on the auto shuttle and the lodging on the island is to say the least expen-sion! On New Year's Eve we jumped onto the ship and explored for one whole year!
Fullers boats depart on a regular basis and if you purchase a coach passport, you will receive $45 for a comeback. This boat trip itself is breathtaking, you say good-bye to the Auckland skyline in the direction of Waiheke and are within 40 min. prepared to discover it! It is a picturesque little town with a few restaurants and a long sandy and marine route.
And we got back on the coach with our passports and drove to Palm Bea. The best beaches on the island (from what we have seen) with great natural beauties come large crowds of them! You could clearly see why it was so beloved, with the gleaming bluish waters that swash over the bank and the wonderfully smooth sands on which to hang out.
Since most of them were too slow, it was difficult to say when to return to the stop. We took a swim in the ocean, which was unexpectedly chilly, and after that we got on the coach to Onetangi Beaches, where we went for a few more ripples and a short hike through the forrest! There is a much bigger one, a great walking along the water's rim with mussels half covered in sandy soil, and you could get entangled in the shimmering colors on your legs and miss everything else!
As I said, accomodation on the island is not cheaper, but camp is a cheaper one! Since we knew the sundown, we made our last stop in Surfdale for a naughty little cidre before we went back to the boat. Surfdale' s sandy area was almost empty, but the sands were not as lush as in Palm Strand.
I suggest that if you want to go to Waiheke Island, you keep it for a nice sunshine outing! It is full of sandy beach and strolls, so a gray days just wouldn't be well-worn! You can also be embarrassed to learn that Waiheke Island is the country of wine!
It' the greatest thing on the whole island! But it can be expensive for a whole days and I really wanted to see the coastline, because this may be the only occasion that we go there! Waiheke? Have you been to Waiheke?
