Tour Operator Launches American Samoa Course

On Monday, seven of Australia's seven domestic tourist companies launched the three-day American Samoa Visitors Bureau'Tourism Export Ready Education Program' and two Parker Travellers are back to provide the education as they have done before. The programme, which was launched in 2011, was successfully completed by seven other providers and allowed them to sell and commercialise their accommodations and travelling products on an international scale in cooperation with wholesale and airline companies.

The Visitor Office's Managing director, David Vaeafe, says the aim of the programme is to provide members of the community's tourist industries with the necessary capabilities to put them in a position to advertise and apply on an international scale. It says that capability development is the keys to the growth of the community tourist sector and if members have the necessary capabilities to do doing good in the region and globally, then their companies and the wider economies will do well.

This year, the Tourism Export Ready Program was made possible by a State Trade Export Program (STEP) granted by the U.S. Small Business Administration. This new apprenticeship ends today. There are seven new trainees: Tisa's Barefoot Bar, Pago Airport Inn, Moana O Sina Resort, Inter Island Airways, Pago Pago Pago Pago Tradewinds Tours et Turtle & Shark Legend Site.
