After booking a taxi online with Check Cabs to meet us at the Checkpoint to take us to Auckland, we gave ourselves a pick-up period that gave us a lot of free rein to get through custom and migration. Came to the place in the kiosk where the website told us to wait for our rider with a plate with our name on it.

We' ve followed orders, but still no taxi signal in 10 mins. When the taxi arrived at the curb, we were about to take the Sky Bus across the road, at least 40 min too far and not where we had anticipated. Don't spend your precious years with these guys.

Auckland Domestic to Auckland City - very good value :) Not 10 min after the reserved period we have reserved a little leeward for the airport-service. She called the head offi ice and asked the chauffeur, who was about 15 min from the pickup.

Lucky another cab I beckoned down got us out of the way. It was a very discouraging and stressing end to a great week-end in Auckland.

We' ve seen many bad reports about taxi fares before our trip to Waiheke Island, but I'm happy to say that Sam from Express Taxis on Waiheke has only offered us great value for money and we couldn't have anticipated it better. We' ve prepaid for a taxi to pick up a girlfriend who arrives from the UK on a 5.50 am plane, which will save us having to be at the airfield at this godless moment, and we know that she will bring her home safe and on schedule for all of us for breakfast and not a problem with transport or car-parks!

Around 30 mins after the nomination collection we phoned the taxi service to find out where the taxi was, just to find out that he hadn't found a parking space and we could hit him in front of Novotel Air. We' ve followed orders, but still no taxi signal in 10 mins.

When the taxi arrived at the curb, we were about to take the Sky Bus across the road, at least 40 min too far and not where we had anticipated. Not an excuse or even an explanations from the rider, but in the meantime we were too weary to question the bad services of the business and just wanted to move to the town.
