Mule Ride Molokai - 34 pictures & 24 votes - Tours - 100 Kalae Hwy, Kualapuu, HI - Telephone number

These burros knew exactly what they were doing - it was actually quite astonishing. It was opened by the world's sweetest little cowboys and these burros knew where to go and in what order. In the aftermath of this experiment, I have a lot of admiration for MADs! It was a marvellous trip to Calaupapa.

When they said the burros knew what they were doing and just let them do it, I had to do it. udrey was a terrific muleteer and hiking leader. On the following morning I am a little raw and hard in some places, but I am so damn happy with us that we made the trip!

A well-done and instructive visit to the village of Calaupapa. It was an unbeatable view and our guide was very useful in responding to all our queries about the leprosy population. Admittedly, it was quite frightening to take this small serpentine path down to the sea......there were days when the burros seemed to slide a little, but we were sure they would get us there for safe.

It' worth the effort and you won't miss it! That was a fantastic one. So I made an on-line booking and went on a full-time outing. All of us had to signed a disclaimer, then we were mated with our dog, we had some mules with us and when we began, the mileage seemed to know their work.

So I stroked my little dog so he knew I valued his work. You will be taken to a stop where you will be met by a coach to accompany you for the remainder of your trip. During this period the Paniolus take care of the burrow.

When this trip is over, come back and climb on the same horn. You call the name of the mules instead of the passenger's name, so be sure. I' m so happy that I did this trip, because I don't think it will last forever. I' ve learnt so much on the St. Damien trip and the trip with the mules was an additional benefit!

When you get the opportunity, this is the way to Kalaupapa. So we decided for the trip to Kalaupapa because my BF has some problems with my knees. They seemed to be well taken care of and know their way around. Prospects are amazing & our guide was kind & helping to keep the herd in motion.

Kalaupapa trip & luncheon was fantastic. I' ve been out with two of my buddies today. Personnel are amazing......friendly and patient...the view is spectacular....the burros are beautiful. It is an experiment you should put on your pail lists. Now, be real before you get on a hooligan. Great trip too.

Highly recommended for everyone who is visiting Molokai! It was a marvellous experiance for me and my whole team. If you come to Molokai just to do this, it's still there. Experiencing, seeing and being where the holy ones were walking is a present in the age. All the mule leaders were great..... clever, fun, took me upstairs unharmed.

Thanks for an memorable event. The Kalaupapa is definitely a must on Moloka'i. There are 3 ways to get there: hiking, flying or mules. Although not inexpensive ($199/person), we chose to drive the motorcycle. Our Moloka'i Tours experiences were beloved.

In the end he talked to 3 of the staff for about 20-30 min or so while we waited for the start of the group. During the whole trip the guide was very kind and supportive. You were able to keep the burros under scrutiny without bad lymphs.

They were fantastic themselves. Leaders choose your dog for you (I was fortunate enough to get one that I had looked at before because it seemed soft) and I had one called ?u. In general, the burros seem to be on autopilots. First, the drive down is a little daunting, but once you get the knack, everything is good and not too frightening.

Downstairs, they sent you away with Father Damien Tours (I didn't really enjoy the trip, but it was ok), but then you grouped up again a few afterward. It is a great adventure when you visit Moloka'i. It was a great event! Our guidebooks are kind, warm-hearted, skilled, enthusiastic and competent.

It is a marvellous view to see the highest rocks in the whole wide open spaces and to see a place with so much historical heritage that dates back to 1833. After the descent you will have a 3-hour trip through Kalaupapa and Kalawao. They are so isolated that you can either walk or horseback riding on the fly's burrow.

You can look forward to an unforgettable adventure! In addition, the tourist guide and employees make sure that you are feeling very particular and beloved. That was our favourite activity on Molokai! It' definitely a unique event! Both my man and I decided to rid the burros against walking or flies and I am pleased with this one.

When you walk downstairs, remember that it's the same way the burros are climbing up and down (a lot of crap!) Once everyone check in, you'll get a fast lecture on how to horseback riding and then you'll be mated with your burro. So if you hesitate, you don't have to be!

I can' t wait to do it again when we get back to Molokai! Thank you JR and our crew for an unforgetable event! ALOHA personnel ghost, the view, the beautiful burros that really make for a marvellous adventure. At JR we are doing a great show! Every individual on our trip was mated with the matching burro, and go loving for Molokai and the story made the trip very interesting.

It' a little frightening, but the burros do most of the work. It was a great horse riding. It was a lot of pleasure for the burros, the boys were entertaining and communicative, and the opinions were outside this area. With that out of the way, I have the most insane tale I can tell about my special Indian horse riding, which is too strange not to be shared with the rest of the planet.

It was a great way down the cliff, this interesting meeting took place on the way back to the cliff after visiting the city of Kalaupapa. Each of us was part of a line of mules that walked the well-maintained way. On the fifth place at the line of mules I had a great tim.

Coming around a nook I noticed that one of the burros with an elderly girl started migrating off the trail so that the burro could masturbate. Obviously the wife didn't like how the burro got off the road, so she shouted a clotting cry.

The screaming scared the horses too much and they ran into the bushes and bushes that were all around the way! First I was worried that this burro was on a warpath alone. When I saw the girl doing nothing more than sitting there while the stallion was racing, I no longer felt sick for her.

It has done nothing to affect the burro except to shout, and it has no one else to hold responsible but itself for the frightened burro. Return to the morning sun in the bush and up in the woods. Once the burro had run away, the lady was stunned by some twigs and shrubs and almost beheaded by a twig of a cane.

She was trapped around her throat and her mind went nowhere while her corpse was lead away by the panic-stricken mayor. When the wife had fallen from the group, he chose to run to my group! Fortunately I was able to turn my burro around and remained unharmed.

Others in the group were not so fortunate, as their burros were scared up by the other agitated burro and we had a full flight of burros going up the hills. Now four burros ran up the ridge while the unfortunate lady was still lying on the floor and the personnel tried to get a grip on the whole thing.

Workmen got the burros eventually under handcuff and the wife tied up enough to make the remainder of the journey up the mere sea front to the cowsheds. I' d strongly advise you to do the horseback riding. NOTICE: Those lucky enough to drive a Smoky should be prepared to stop for regular snacks.

Astonishing experiences. Faithful to the fair mind that is Molokai. They are phenomenal at the track and they work their ass off to bring you down and support you safely and healthily with over 20 switching backs. You will be impressed by the view, the story of Kalaupapa and Kalawao and the marvellous folk you encounter along the way!

To the Hawaiians I suggest that they live this venture and see one side of our house, Hawaii, still swinging in the old, handed-down way that we should always be respecting and loving. - is a tad pricey; $62 for hiking, $190 for a trip with a mouse; $300 for flying, all plus $7 for dinner - sharp path, but certainly hikeable.

Good thing: - nice vistas - interesting part of our recent story where people were horribly cared for - our travel leader (Buzzy Sproat) had a great deal of pertinent first-hand story, and his woman makes a tasty bacon sausage. 2-star for Buzzy alone, one for the remainder of the trip.

A very little information that is provided in advance (except that they know for sure how the payment processing engine works), and the trip is s-l-o-w. First, you go down a steep rock face with a burrow, which is completely scary. And I was worried that I was gonna drop off my wagon and crash down the bluff--

After 26 turns you will reach Kalaupapa. They visit the area of the former leper settlement, where a few persons with Hansen illness still live today. Norman, our travel leader, was great - he brings the story to life. You' re gonna have your dinner and jump back on your hooligan.

It' s weird, but the burros are climbing faster than they go down the rock..... In any case I would definitely suggest the horseback riding on the walk. When you are walking, keep in mind 1) it is a really tough ascent; and 2) this little path is full of burros every day. There' s a bunch of bullshit.

Can' t believe the walk would be so enjoyable, but the horseback riding is great. I would also make a reservation well in advance, because the trips fill up quickly. and each of the burros has its own unique character. Thankfully Tita (Hawaiian for sister) was a great dog!

We had Buzzy as our travel companion - the Damien route type had a familial accident - and Buzzy's "fill in" was unbelievable! After researching a great deal about the estate, I felt that it was a very touching and a very spiritual one.

Discontinuity: I did not go for a horseback riding on the Indian horse, I (unfortunately) went hiking. They have the option of riding or hiking. They are superstable and move quickly up and down the hills. Get a short introduction to the topic "mule rider". "Maultierreiter have leaders on the way, wanderers are on their own.

Visit of Kaluapapapa 3. 5 hours. It is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Whilst almost anyone with any previous experiences and a willingness to pursue direction and security can do it (husband and I only have a few recurring horsebacks under our belt), it is a lot of work and you will ascend the next time.

This gives you a great deal of consideration for the burros and those who do this hike every single workingday. All of the leaders were great, the burros seemed very well looked after and well looked after and everyone was extremely kind. It' a long drive, so get ready for a whole full of adventures. They know what they're doing and have been very good.

In principle it goes up and down with many serpentines on a scooter for 2 hrs with a historic walk through the city in between. On the way back you will get a picture of yourself on your dog along with a graduation diploma and a car stickers that you are now a member of the team.
