Living space of the unripe stadiums of Leoptoconops aliventris de Meijere (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae) was situated in the sandy beaches above the high water near the gradual growth of flora. Unripe was limited to a small stripe and mostly appeared in the top 6 cm of sands. In a certain hatchery the ny eggs were aggregate in their dispersion.

Egg was laid on the naked sandy surfaces, from which the nymphs were apparently distributed in the plant-covered sands and in lower layers before they returned to the surfaces for pupping and soaring. The recovering of unripe stadiums from sandy specimens by a floatation process is described.

It was very roomy and had a sofa bed and a small terrace with a view of the lake.
