Dare to head for the Bay of Islands today. 5 hours, but allow a little more to enjoy the landscape along the way. The Puhoiownship, New Zealand's only Czech town, and discover the art gallery and cafes of Warkworth, the port side of Whangarei and the Kawakawaownship. Arriving in the Bay of Islands you will be welcomed with a breathtaking subtropical landscape of lush rolling countryside surrounded by lush verdant leaves and gold-seas.

If you want to discover more of the beach, the area' s cuisine and wines or the Maori way of life, there are a number of itineraries. On your way southwards into the Waipoua Forest, where you will find the majestic Kauri tree - take some picturesque strolls through the sign-posted area.

The Hauraki Plains, one of New Zealand's biggest milk production areas, and the Thames Estuary, a great place for game viewing and avifauna. It is a very varied area with many lonely coves, quiet cities and a wealth of pioneering stories to discover. Located in the center of the most volcanic area in the word, this is a singular and interesting place.

Buried' or Te Wairoa has been ruined during the Tarawera outbreak and you can now discover this historical area, where there is a separate history of the area in the form of a monument. It is a trout-filled area, which makes it a favourite place for angling, and there are also farming trips and sheep-shearing shows, in excess of the normal adrenaline rush that New Zealand is known for.

In this part of the trip you will visit the hot springs of Rotorua. When you get close to Taupo, you will see signposts leading you to the Huka Falls, which are one of the most amazing attractions in this area and which you should definitely see on your trip through this area. One of New Zealand's best wine-growing areas, Hawkes Bay offers many itineraries where you can taste the products and see the lush hills.

You will end your tour in Martinborough, home of boutiques and wonderful countryside. From Lambton Quay, take a funicular to Kelburn Hill and enjoy some of the best sights of the town, ending in the botanic garden - a wonderful place in itself. Deposit your rental vehicle and take the Wellington to Picton boat trip, which takes about 3 hours and offers a wonderful landscape.

Travelling through Marlborough you can marvel at the wonderful countryside of this first-class winegrowing area. Kaikoura is known for its fauna and is an excellent place to discover. The Kaikoura is a picturesque place, but it is very nice to discover, with many stores, bars and cafe. For those who want to go even further, the countryside can be explored by cycling, walking and gulft.

Don't miss the International Antarctic Centre, which gives you an glimpse of what is happening in this breathtaking Arctic Ocean, and the Willowbank Gamelife Reserve, which gives you the chance to see some of New Zealand's indigenous avifauna. For those wishing to travel further out of town, join a wilderness tour starting from Lyttelton, showing the unique Hector dolphin in their dens.

Drive through places like Beautiful Valley and then climb up Burkes Passport to Lake Takapo. Dunedin, a beautiful architectural centre, is an interesting place to discover - especially the Dunedin railway station, one of the 100 best places in the whole wide range of sights.

Trip to Te Anau, a trip through Southland. Shortly to the south you will arrive at Te Anau, the gate to Fiordland National Park and the renowned Milford Sound. Head to Mossburn - the stag city of New Zealand - then on to Lake Wakatipu, where you will find Kingston.

Continue northwards along the lakeshore as the Remarkables chain of mountains overshadow the landscape on your way to Queenstown. There are also relaxing leisure pursuits such as vineyard trips, a visit to the historical goldmining village of Arrowtown and scenic cruising. Descent into the Haast Pass, where there are cascades and vibrant streams at every corner.

Deposit your rental vehicle and start your trip through the spectacular landscape on the way to Christchurch. The Otira Valley and the Arthur's Pass National Park are some of the attractions on your itinerary.
