The weather station was built as a replacement for the weather station in Yap. Work involved the planning and erection of two buildings: the Weather Service Offices (WSO) - a 2,560 SF offices for National Weather Service information collection and handling; and the Upper Air Inflation building (UAIB) - a 408 SF facility that will facilitate the launch of weather blowtorch.

Prefabricated walls and piles were used in both of them. Planning of foundation and supply facilities or state-equipped aerials, ARTS domes and various outdoor equipment were incorporated into the overall work. Both structures were constructed of ferroconcrete expansion bases connected to the system of floors.

This system was used as a pouring base for the hinged prefabricated partition and prefabricated rafter. Outer 8 " prefabricated external partitions were provided with a structured layer accentuated by embrasure embedded in the partitions. Each of the air-conditioned outer panels has been fitted with metallic bolts to provide R-11-batteries.

Nappy changing door at the UAIB building are electrically powered and specified as hydrogen group B, category 1, section 2. The inside door was made of massive whiteoak with a transparent surface.

Door and frame made of steel were fluoropolymer-finished steel type A90. The inside partitions have been coated, with the exception of the bathroom, where the tiles are tiled. It was handicapped-friendly and meets the demands of UFAS and ADAAG. HVAC was a duct system for distributing compressed bagged ambient temperature.

Facilities were equipped with a multiplex/addressable analogue fire system. Anti-flashed lighting was installed in both of them. Further work under the order involved a new approach route, construction site upgrades incl. fences, supply lines and ancillary work. Overall order value was $1,351,785, less than the initial order value.

As a result of enhancement A00004, the initial date on which the agreement was concluded, April 22, 2003, remains the same. A later amendment, A300005, after end approval and adoption of the agreement, however, prolonged the validity of the agreement until 19 August 2003. A00004 was adopted on April 16, 2003.
