Founded in 1967, the carrier began operating as Air Pacific on July 10, 1967. Air Pacific was re-named Fiji Air on 29 March 1971 and re-named Air Fiji in February 1995. Owners were Aviation Investments (55%), the Fiji authorities (11%) and other stakeholders (34%).
