Digs of a large Tell, which uncovered the remains of a Sassanid fortress, indicate that the early Yulfar was situated in the northern part of Ras Al-Khaimah, not far from other historical/archaeological places such as the "Sheba Palace" and the biggest Umm-an-Nar graves found on the Arabian Peninsula. At the Battle of Ras Al Khaimah in 1809, the Al Qasimi navy was largely wiped out.

UK operations went on to Linga on the Iranian coastline, which, like the Greater and Lesser Tunbs Isles, was managed by the Al Qasimi. An assault on Ras Al Khaimah led to the demolition of the Dhayah Fort spire from the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, whose remnants can be seen in Rams to the north of Ras Al Khaimah.

The British in January 1820 issued the General Sea Treaty of 1820, which had been executed by Sheikh Sultan Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and re-established by the British in Ras Al Khaimah after the removal of Hasan Bin Rahma. Properties - In Ras al-Khaimah, a large number of housing areas, office and business premises are being built. Toursism- Ras al-Khaimah is becoming a new place on touristic cards. Home to five-star establishments such as Hilton Hotel and Resort, Rotana and Banyan Tree. Construction Material - Ras al-Khaimah opened the UAE's first concrete plant in the early 70s and is today the UAE's biggest concretemaker.

Ras al-Khaimah founded in the 1980', which has developed into one of the biggest ceramic manufacturers in the word. Farming and fishing - in the past these were the most important economic activities of Ras al-Khaimah. UAE civilization is mainly focused on the Islam religious and Arabic Tradition. There is also a strong impact of Muslim and Arabian cultures on the architectural, musical, clothing, kitchen and lifestyles.

The UAE Awafi is an annual event in the Ras al-Khaimah deserts, mainly aimed at the Arab population. The Terry Fox Run RAK - an annual benefit run in Ras al-Khaimah to help UAE oncology. The city is linked to the other UAE countries by taxi and bus from the RAK bus station near the new Ras al-Khaimah police headquarters and opposite the Cove Rotana Cove hotels.

There are three highways linking Ras al-Khaimah with the other UAE and beyond. Situated in the Khawr Khuwayr Industry Park, Saqr Ports is the emirate's principal harbour and provides cargo and containment service. It' also the nearest harbour in the UAE to Bandar Abbas, Iran, but there is no shipment from Saqr harbour to Bandar Abbas[clarification required].

The Ras Al Khaimah International Airport provides freight and air travel to a wide range of locations in the Middle East, North and East Africa, Central Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. The 17th February 2006 saw the announcement of a plan by the company to build a $265 million spacecraft for the development of outer-space tourism in Ras al-Khaimah.
