Glacier Bay Alaska Cruise
Alaska Glacier Bay CruiseHolidays in Glacier Bay Alaska | Glacier Bay Cruises Inside Passage
Situated in the southeast of Alaska' s Inside Passage, Glacier Bay is a natural habitat of glacier, mountain, coastal, fjord, river and lake. The country of this beloved nature reserve was cut by huge icebergs that once ruled the landscape. The glacier is in a state of permanent flux as the glacier has declined dramatically over the last 200 years.
This is believed to be due to the world' s warming, and Glacier Bay has become a virtuous lab for researchers investigating this phenomena. It is easy to reach the tidal glacier by boat and the withdrawal of these floods opens the country to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The Glacier Bay National Park is a real treasure for any holiday in Southeast Alaska.
The Glacier Bay National Parks Headquarters is in Gustavus, about 30 minutes from Juneau. You can reach Gustavus with a small airplane from Juneau. Glacier Bay is an optional full board trip for Juneau visitors and accommodation is available in both the parks and Gustavus.
The Netherlands America and other large cruise liners are visiting Glacier Bay National Parks as they cruise the Inside Passage. You can find the formal Parkeingang and Ranger Headquarter 8m from Gustavus at Glacier Bay Lodge. If you are traveling alone, spending the night in nearby Gustavus, or taking a full days out from Juneau, cruise starts in Glacier Bay National Parks from Bartlett Cove.
The Glacier Bay is the only one within the National Reserve and comprises a central structure with rooms on both wings. There is a lounge with a fire place, a parking interpretation centre, a souvenir store and a gourmet food area. Gustavus Inn and Bear Track Inn, both in Gustavus, are the more private accommodations for Glacier Bay residents, although they are not within the park's boundaries.
