Kheongju (??)[1], also called Chongju, is the capitol of North Chungcheong, South Korea. Not to be mistaken for Chungju near by, Cheongju is not only the province capitol, but also a historical town that has created the oldest mobile printing house in the world: Cheongju is nevertheless proud of its place in global annals and celebrated 2011 as a Jikji festival.

However, for a local traveller, perhaps the biggest advantage of Cheongju is that it is home to one of the largest Korean aerodromes (with some important connections ), which serves not only Cheongju but also the near big town of Daejeon. The Cheongju Internacional Airport[2] is situated on the edge of the town. There are ten daily departures to Jeju Island, but there are only China connections to the world.

Jeju has regular departures, with the first at 09:30 and the last at 20:10. It is forbidden to take photographs of the aerodrome (both from the aircraft and from outside), as the aerodrome also acts as an airbase. Ogeunjang Central Railway Stations is there.

The Jeongbu Highway: connects Cheongju with Seoul via Ochang and/or Jincheon. The Gyeongbu Expressway: connects Cheongju with Seoul, Daejeon and Busan. The majority of the big South Korean towns have fast trains to Cheongju. The Cheongju Expressbus Terminal, for busses to Busan, Daegu, Gwangju and Seoul. If your Korean is not very good, make sure you're here. The Cheongju has an elaborate system of buses available for , but it can be hard to find out. From the Intercity station (???????) on the western side of the city, take the 511, 405, 747 or 105 buses to Cheongju Stadium (?? ???).

Situated near the Cheongju coach stations and within Dreamplus, it is easily recognizable. Shina Cheongju's "Downtown" is full of design shops and great dining that are ideal for the audience. There are several marketplaces all over the town, which every traveller has to come across. The Yukgeori Square near Cheongju town centre is the city's largest one. Cheongju's specialties are chestnut, and small packages are available throughout Cheungchong province.

There is a good mixture of traditional Korea and West cuisine. McDonald's, KFC, Mr. Pizza and Burger King live there. In Ha-Buk-Dae near the town of Ha-Buk-Dae, Say Won is one of the best in Cheongju. Famous for its great value and welcoming Sey Won cook provides some of the best Seoul' s best Seyhi you can find on this site.

They do not take bookings like most of Korea's restaurant, but they ship to most places within 10 minutes from Ha Buk Dae. In Cheongju there are many places to eat traditional Korea barbecued meat and grilled cattle. The underground is on the first level of Dreamplus, near the Gagyung bus station.

There is a third subway at the front of Cheongju University. Also in ChungDae and probably the best roast hen place in Cheongju. Delicious ChungDae hungery eye in India, opposite the terrace. Vietnamesian meals at reasonable Korea-costs. It' the westernmost place in Cheongju for 10,000-16,000 won.

Then the price goes up a score of 16,000-30,000 won, but the flavor will be the best in Cheongju. Outdoor steak house Situated in Gakyeong Dong near the coach station. Cheongju daekhusul, a kind of kakju, an un refined liqueur made from grain, is the speciality of the area. In Cheongju there are several hundred watering halls all over the town.

One of the largest west facing clubs in the area with dart, foosball and a billiard game. There is a good choice of South and West beer, draught Guinness and a delicious meal between 12 and 1 am. It' a West styled place, and there aren't many desks.

However, it is not an ex-pat pub and most of the guests are Koreans. Situated above Dunkin' Doughnuts, Miller Time serves all Miller and branded ale. You have a choice of westerly meals and free potato pancakes with each dish. With its own concoction, Da is a fresh alternative for Cheongju.

The hottest nightclub of the Roma Night Cheongju is situated directly opposite the less popular'Don't Tell Mama' in Ha Buk Dae. Do not be astonished if you get involved with some of Cheongji's richer socialists. It has a new, fashionable, westerly style dining area and a cinema. Since the older generations often like to help, I suggest that you refresh your facial expressions and study a little bit of Korea (especially "thank you").

The signposts are not fertile, but all road titles are in both English and KORYOAN. Cheongju (and many other parts of Korea, especially outside Seoul and other major cities) will attract attention. A number of the Koreans are smokers, but they have a tendency to do it either in the bathrooms of a bar or in their own houses.

There are, however, many busses not included here that also depart from Cheongju, among them busses to Gyeongju, Incheon Airport, Nam (South) Seoul, SongniSan and just about every other place you will ever want to visit. The information desk is next to the Cheongju Intercity Bus Terminal and should be able to help you if necessary.

Cheongju Airport also offers services to Jeju and China. Cheongju's first departure at 07:40 and Cheongju's last departure at 19:05. There are only a few weekly services to Beijing on Wednesday and Saturday, Shanghai on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Shenyang on Wednesday.
