Famous representatives in the second half of the twentieth centuries who have published a large number of works or appear frequently in the mainstream press are Erich von Däniken, Zecharia Sitchin, Robert K. G. Temple, Giorgio A. Tsoukalos and David Hatcher Childress.... Old astronauts advocates suggest that these could be alien observers. SHCLOVSKI and SAGAN reasoned that inter-stellar travelling at sublight speed through alien lives is a surety when it comes to technology that was either in place or practicable in the later 1960s;[21] that repetitive cases of alien visits to Earth are plausible;[22] and that pre-scientific narrative can provide a potentially trustworthy means of depicting expedition.
He was a prominent supporter of this theory in the latter sixties and early seventies and won a large public through the release of his bestseller Chariot of the Gods? and its sequel in 1968. In the view of Denmark, certain artefacts demand a more refined technical capability in their design than that available to the old civilizations that built them.
Danes claim that these artefacts were built either directly by alien tourists or by people who have learnt the necessary know-how from these people. Among them are Stonehenge, Pumapunku, the Moai of Easter Island, the Great Pyramid of Giza and the old electrical battery of Baghdad. Of Danes wrote that antique arts and iconographies around the globe represent aircraft and spacecraft, non-human but smart beings, old cosmonauts and artefacts of an anachronistic progressive-technologies.
von Däniken also explains that historically separate geographical backgrounds divide art issues which, in his opinion, implicate a shared ancestry. Von Däniken wrote that the draft represents a sitting cosmonaut. Danics interpret the roots of many faiths as a reaction to meetings with a foreign breed. In his opinion, people regarded alien technologies as miraculous and the Alien themselves as god.
From Däniken notes that the verbal and literal records of most faiths contain clues to foreigners in the form of depictions of stars and vehicle bodies traveling through travel. Ezekiel's Old Testament revelations, which Däniken interpreted as a detailled depiction of a landingship (The Spaceships of Ezekiel).
Denmark's hypothesis became popular in the US after the NBC TV documentation In Search Of Ancient Astronauts by Rod Serling and the movie Charlie's of the Dead. The Hindu legend says that the deities and their savages fly from place to place in aircrafts (see Vimana). Childr and others have stated that the section in the Book of Invasions that describes the advent of the Tuatha Dé Danann in Ireland documents "the advent of alien ships with camouflage devices" in Slieve Anierin.
Old cosmonaut theoreticians believe that Hopi cavernous paintings of Kachinas, found in the southwest deserts, connect the origin of the Hopi and Zuni clans with "star people". Elsewhere they refer to similar engravings as proof that aliens were visiting many different ancients. Old cosmonauts have often been approached in sci-fi and ghost stories in many different ways.
Jason Colavito wrote in an 2004 issue of the journal skeptic that many of the ideas of the Magician's Matin (Morning of the Magicians) have been adopted from Danes, that this volume was again strongly inspired by the myth of Mount myth and that the essence of the old astronauts' theory lies in H. P. Lovecraft's works "The Call of Cthulhu" and At the Mountains of Madness.
Jason Colavito later extended this concept in his novel The Cultural of Alien Gods: H. P. Lovecraft and Extraterrestrial Pop Culture. A lot of papers have been arguing for the old astronaut hypothesis. 1989: Salvador Freixedo, (Book, La Amenaza Extraterrestre - Spanish: The Alien Threat). The Wikimedia Commons has alien-mediacons.
